Job Summary/Purpose

Manage all aspects of Technical Field Operations (Measurement) work log and projects safely and efficiently to meet customer commitments and regulatory compliance. Support Technical Field Operations (Measurement) work groups with planning and execution of preventative maintenance and special projects, Complete escalated / more complex work orders assigned to other techs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Plan, schedule, assign, manage, and monitor work of TFO activities. Coordinate with contractors, customers, and internal gas departments for addressing any issues or complaints, ensuring exemplary customer service.

2. Ensure all work meets company standards and regulatory requirements while ensuring all workmanship complies with Delta Utilities’ safety guidelines, practices, and procedures.

3. Participate in PHMSA/DNR/OPS audits in support of TFO activities.

4. Operate and maintain system assets and company equipment in support of TFO activities.

5. Work with Engineering and other departments to ensure all facilities are operated and maintained according to company specifications, standards, and policies.

6. Work emergency or storm restoration in other areas as needed.

7. Work with external and internal customers and resolve customer issues. Assume OCs or Supervisor's duties during absences.

8. Perform Field Safety Observations for field operations group and assist in training new employees and testing employees to meet Operator Qualifications required for the Field Operations positions.

9. Work a rotating callout schedule.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum education required of the position.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum experience required of the position.

  • 7 years of Measurement or Service experience/combination of both.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position.

  • Extensive knowledge of the gas distribution and transmission system with proven leadership abilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulation equipment types and methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of Odorization of Natural Gas Methods
  • Extensive knowledge of Gas Metering and Methods (Ultrasonic, Rotary, Turbine, Orifice etc)
  • Extensive knowledge of Remote Telemetry Equipment and maintenance of these units.
  • Knowledge of PHMSA CFR 192.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technology.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Desired: Ability to implement and manage system changes assigned by Engineering, Gas Control, and other workgroups.
  • Desired: Knowledge of Oracle suite for work scheduling, Purchasing, and Account maintenance.

Must be able maintain driver’s license required to operate the company vehicle required for the position. 

Reside within 45 Minutes of New Orleans Territory.

Must be able to work extended hours as needed or be called upon after hours and be assigned a “storm role” to aid in emergency response as needed.
