Description:
We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a self-contained classroom in Gurnee, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator passionate about helping students overcome academic and behavioral challenges while fostering a supportive learning environment.
Position: Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained Classroom)
Student Population: Elementary
Caseload: To be determined
Required Credential: Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement
Schedule: Monday Friday
Support students in addressing academic and behavioral delays.
Develop and implement appropriate academic and behavioral interventions.
Collaborate with school staff to support students in special education and regular education settings.
Provide instruction and support within a self-contained classroom.
Work closely with a team of providers to ensure coordinated student support.
Establish and maintain effective communication systems among team members.
Experience teaching educational life skills.
Experience working with low-incidence student populations.
Knowledge of behavior planning and intervention strategies.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to organize and maintain effective systems for team communication.
