Job Description
Randstad is hiring reliable, motivated Overnight Stockers for a fast-paced distribution facility in Wauwatosa. If you are looking for steady hours, weekly pay, and a role easily accessible via public transit, this is the opportunity for you. An Overnight Stocker prepares retail sales floors and backrooms for daily operations while the store is closed or operating at low traffic.
salary: $22.5 - $23 per hour
shift: Third
work hours: 10 PM - 6:30 AM
education: No Degree Required
Responsibilities
- Freight Unloading & Sorting: Unload delivery trucks, stage pallets, break down mixed freight by department or aisle, and verify shipments against manifests.
- Shelf Replenishment & Merchandising: Stock merchandise according to store planograms, ensuring correct UPC placement, price tags, and shelf locations.
- Product Rotation (FIFO): Practice First-In, First-Out stocking by placing newer stock behind older merchandise, especially in perishable, grocery, or dated goods categories.
- Facing & "Zoning": Pull products to the front edge of shelves, align labels forward, and straighten displays to create an orderly, full appearance for morning opening.
- Overstock & Backroom Management: Top-stock or return excess inventory to designated backroom racking, label backstock cases, and log locations using handheld RF/inventory scanners.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate manual or electric pallet jacks, flatbed carts, U-boats, step ladders, and cardboard balers.
- Damaged Goods & Waste Handling: Identify broken, defective, or leaking merchandise, route items to claims or waste disposal, and clear floor aisles of plastic wrap and empty cardboard.
- Safety & Floor Readiness: Keep fire exits, main aisles, and power equipment clear of obstructions to hand off a clean, safe sales floor to the morning crew.
The essential functions of this role include:
