Job Description

Yellowstone Local is proud to represent Innovative Mechanical Contractors LLC, an industry leader in commercial mechanical construction.

You know how to take ownership of commercial construction projects, control the moving pieces, and get the job across the finish line. Bring that experience here and build your expertise managing federal projects with a team ready to support your growth.

What's in it for You?

  • Pay: $85,000 - $125,000 per year, based on experience.

  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with 4% matching, paid holidays, and PTO.

  • Company Resources: Company truck, company credit card, training, and the tools you need to succeed.

  • Career Growth: Professional development resources and clear opportunities for advancement.

  • Federal Project Experience: Expand your commercial construction background by gaining hands-on experience with government contracts and federal construction projects.

  • Collaborative Environment: Work from a fully equipped office alongside a team focused on communication, accountability, and getting projects done right.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Commercial Experience Comes First: We're looking for a Project Manager who understands commercial construction. Federal construction experience is valuable, but you don't need to know every government process on day one.

  • We'll Build on What You Know: Bring strong construction fundamentals and a willingness to learn. Government contracting procedures, federal project requirements, company processes, and specialized systems can be learned.

  • Real Project Ownership: You'll have a direct hand in estimating, planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, field execution, and project closeout.

  • Stay Connected to the Work: This is an office-based Project Manager position with regular job site visits, keeping you connected to field crews, subcontractors, and project progress.

  • Straightforward Leadership: Work in an environment built around open communication, collaboration, accountability, and clear expectations.

  • Build Valuable Federal Experience: Grow your commercial construction career while developing expertise in federal projects, government contracts, and work performed at military installations.

Your New Role

  • Lead Commercial Construction Projects: Take ownership of commercial and federal construction projects from startup through closeout, coordinating schedules, budgets, subcontractors, field teams, and project deliverables.

  • Manage Budgets and Schedules: Track construction costs, schedules, deadlines, change orders, and resources to keep projects moving on time and within budget.

  • Coordinate the Work: Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, clients, and internal team members to keep every phase of the project aligned.

  • Stay Connected to the Field: Regularly visit active project sites to monitor construction progress, verify quality, solve problems, and coordinate with field crews and subcontractors.

  • Support Estimating and Bidding: Assist with construction estimates, quantity takeoffs, pricing, cost analysis, and competitive bids.

  • Review Construction Documents: Evaluate blueprints, plans, specifications, scopes of work, proposals, contracts, and other project documentation.

  • Use Construction Technology: Work with tools such as Bluebeam, RS Means, RS Means Online, QuickBooks, and Adobe Acrobat for estimating, documentation, cost management, and project coordination.

  • Manage Federal Project Requirements: Learn and apply government contract requirements, federal construction procedures, documentation standards, and project-specific requirements.

  • Support Military Installation Projects: Coordinate applicable construction work performed at military installations while meeting required site access and eligibility requirements.

  • Location: Work full-time from the company office in Millersville, Maryland, with regular travel to active project sites as needed.

Hiring Expectations: Apply today, complete a quick phone screening, and get ready for an interview with our team to discuss your goals and experience.

  • Strong understanding of commercial construction project management, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, project documentation, and field execution

  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and project coordination skills

  • Ability to work full-time from the company office and regularly travel to project sites as needed
